The Yoga-Deep-Dive you've been looking for

A place to learn TRU(E) YOGA

Are you seeking a true foundation for a lifelong holistic yoga practice that encompasses the physical, mental, emotional and energetic dimensions?

Do you find yourself captivated by the deeper layers of yoga—the mantras, the meanings behind the poses, the interplay of anatomy and psychology, and the rich history and philosophy?

In today’s fast-paced world

YTT programs have become a quick fix—offering just enough to teach yoga but often missing the heart of the practice. Yoga School is different. We’re not here to rush the process. We’re here to nurture a profound connection to yoga as a practice, philosophy, and way of life.

A dedicated space for true seekers

In-person training in Uvita, Costa Rica
Starting May 5th, 2025

Imagine a Hogwarts for Yoga
where you can geek out with fellow seekers

Yoga School is where passionate students come to unlock the wisdom of yoga, not just for certification, but for transformation through:

✓ Talks on Yoga Philosophy, Mythology and History
✓ Asana clinics exploring anatomy, cueing, and sequencing
✓ Workshops on somatic psychology, meditation, yoga nidra, and yin yoga
✓ Mantra and Naad Yoga (Sound Yoga) sessions, including Sanskrit pronunciation

Why yoga school?

Embodiment

The path of yoga is more than just learning taking a one hour yoga class. It is about embodying a spiritual approach to life, empowered health and exploring the subtle dimensions of reality.

Since ancient times, people would go to a ‘gurukula’, or a yoga school, to immerse themselves in the teachings, practices and lifestyle that support them to evolve.

Our yoga school is for students that are seeking the kind of yoga that…

  • Changes your patterns of thought, emotion and perception to develop the confidence in your ability to create your reality.

  • Brings this sacred science into your life to create a holistic daily practice that can be easily shared with others

  • Integrates ancient wisdom with new discoveries in neurobiology, physics and psychology in ways that are easy to communicate with the modern world

What is the TRU Yoga approach?

The acronym TRU stands for The Resonance of Unity.

Yoga means union, and is both a path, practice and realization of Oneness. Through yoga we learn to create a harmonious resonance between body, mind and spirit, which brings about continuous insights into how life operates.

This approach to yoga  makes us aware of subtle dimensions of life – like moving through the layers of an onion – and awakens the virtues of wisdom, compassion, courage and other awakening energies.

Through the self-knowledge we gain, we heal ourselves and learn how to create the life we want while living in service to the whole.

Author of the Inner Path Yoga Deck, he is passionate about bringing the wisdom of the mystics to the modern mind and ancient heart. He leads Awake’s yoga program, co-created the TRU Yoga Teacher training, and has been teaching yoga internationally in Canada, Asia and Latin America.

Zamir’s hatha yoga training was influenced by a number of teachers – particularly Swami Sivananda and Donna Farhi – and he completed his 500 hr teacher training under David Goulet in Chakra Yoga. This approach provides a holistic understanding of the body-mind system rooted in modern science…which also corroborates the knowledge of ancient yogis. He served as an instructor in yoga asana, pranayama, meditation and yoga philosophy for the Langara College yoga teacher training program, teaching both in Vancouver and internationally. He’s trained in Compassionate Inquiry, a somatic-based psychotherapy developed by Dr. Gabor Mate, which informs his healing work as both a yoga teacher and holistic counselor. He has co-created a program for healing attachment trauma called “Patterns to Presence”, with behavioural scientist Sabrina Lakhani. He studied Ati-Yoga under Wisdom Master Maticintin, founder of HUMUH : Clear Mind Buddhism and his spiritual teacher for the last decade, spending extended periods in the monastery studying meditation, buddhist logic and doing karma yoga. In 2020 he founded Mystic Yogi and published The Inner Path, a yoga philosophy practice deck with stunning art and contemporary guidance for yoga seekers looking to integrate the 8 limbs of yoga into their life.
