IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE AWAKE EARTH TEAM
Dear Awake Earth 2025 Community,
With a grieving heart, we are sharing with you that the Awake Earth Festival will not take place this year. We recently learned, at the very last minute, that we did not have all the necessary permits to legally proceed with the festival. Costa Rican authorities informed us that additional approvals were required for an event of this scale and duration. Unfortunately, this was not on our radar, and as a result, we are unable to move forward with the festival this year. We tried everything we could to find a legal way to proceed but were ultimately unsuccessful.
We deeply apologize for this unexpected turn of events and for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause. We know many of you have made travel plans, set intentions, and were looking forward to this experience as much as we were. This is a sobering moment for our entire team, who have poured their hearts into planning every detail—from stages, zones, and vendors to volunteers and logistics. With over 400 of you already holding tickets, we were fully ready to welcome you, making this all the more difficult to share. We made a mistake, and we take full responsibility. It truly pains us to have to pause this dream when so much love and effort has been invested in bringing it to life.
What’s Next?
We are committed to making this festival happen, with all proper permits in place. The new date is February 2026 (likely 19-22), and we would appreciate if you stand with us by holding onto your ticket for next year. This will help us recover financially from the investments already made in infrastructure and artist bookings. We will make a nice gesture at next year’s festival to all of you who choose to ride this with us until then.
Refunds:
We have created three refund options for you. Drew and the entire production team have poured their heart into the festival this year - if you want to show your support, you have the option to take either 50% refund or to hold on to your ticket for next year’s festival.
You also have the option to receive a full refund for your ticket, and we wish for you to join us next year.

Querida comunidad de Tierra Despierta 2025,
Con el corazón afligido, compartimos con vosotros que el Festival Tierra Despierta no se celebrará este año. Recientemente nos enteramos, en el último minuto, que no teníamos todos los permisos necesarios para proceder legalmente con el festival. Las autoridades costarricenses nos informaron de que se requerían aprobaciones adicionales para un evento de esta envergadura y duración. Lamentablemente, esto no estaba en nuestro radar y, como resultado, no podemos seguir adelante con el festival este año. Hemos intentado por todos los medios encontrar una manera legal de seguir adelante, pero al final no lo hemos conseguido.
Pedimos disculpas por este inesperado giro de los acontecimientos y por cualquier inconveniente o decepción que esto pueda causar. Sabemos que muchos de ustedes han hecho planes de viaje, han fijado intenciones y esperaban esta experiencia tanto como nosotros. Este es un momento aleccionador para todo nuestro equipo, que se ha volcado en la planificación de cada detalle, desde los escenarios, las zonas y los proveedores hasta los voluntarios y la logística. Con más de 400 de vosotros ya con entradas, estábamos totalmente preparados para daros la bienvenida, por lo que resulta aún más difícil compartir esta situación. Hemos cometido un error y asumimos toda la responsabilidad. Nos duele mucho tener que interrumpir este sueño cuando se ha invertido tanto amor y esfuerzo en darle vida.
¿Y ahora qué?
Nos hemos comprometido a hacer realidad este festival, con todos los permisos en regla. La nueva fecha es febrero de 2026 (probablemente del 19 al 22), y te agradeceríamos que nos apoyaras conservando tu entrada para el año que viene. Esto nos ayudará a recuperar económicamente las inversiones ya realizadas en infraestructuras y contratación de artistas. Tendremos un bonito gesto en el festival del año que viene con todos los que decidáis aguantar con nosotros hasta entonces.
Reembolsos:
Hemos creado tres opciones de reembolso para vosotros. Drew y todo el equipo de producción se han volcado con el festival este año - si quieres mostrar tu apoyo, tienes la opción de aceptar un reembolso del 50% o conservar tu entrada para el festival del año que viene.
También tiene la opción de recibir el reembolso íntegro de su entrada, y deseamos que se una a nosotros el año que viene.

What is the Awake Earth vision?
Awake Earth is a community and heart-centered approach to a festival!
This festival is an extension and amplification of our daily celebration of life here at Awake Uvita, in which we create space to connect more deeply to Mother Earth, ourselves and each other. Our intention is for you to leave inspired, energized and even transformed. This festival will be an intimate one--we are making only 500 tickets available. This festival is for the whole family. Children 12 years and under attend for free. We will also have a designated kids area on site. And it will take what we feel is a healthier approach to what a festival can be: mainstage sound no later than midnight; energy to participate in our pillar practices like yoga, breathwork, authentic relating and meditation; and engaging in profound talks on community building, herbalism, permaculture, freedom and bitcoin. And dancing! There will be plenty of dancing and communing under the stars alongside the Uvita river. Awake Earth is a family-friendly gathering and there will be no alcohol vending. About the Event
AWAKE EARTH will take place in the lush riverside setting of Awake in Uvita, Costa Rica.
It's easily accessible & close to town while being incredibly private. Artists & Speakers will be sharing on three stages: the Freedom Village, the Surya Shala and a brand-new Riverfront Garden MainStage with views from multiple terraces including our Sacred Fire Circle. This festival is for the whole family. Children 12 years and under attend for free. We will also have a designated kids area on site.

On Feb. 24, Bitcoin Jungle takes over Awake Earth Festival! We'll have immersive talks, hands-on experiences, and inspiring stories. There will still be music, dancing & networking time throughout the day. This is a great time to really get to know the Bitcoin community and what we stand for. It may not be what you think!
Bitcoin Lounge
Visit the Bitcoin Lounge any time throughout the whole festival to listen to visionary Bitcoin speakers, participate in educational workshops, watch engaging film screenings, or simply relax and network with like-minded individuals. We'll be here throughout the festival. Come say hi, we don't bite!

YAIMA
Cascadian Folktronic Duo from Seattle, WA
Featuring Multi-Instrumentalist & Producer Masaru Higasa from Okinawa, Japan and Vocalist Pepper Proud from Seattle, WA. Yaima has often been described as timeless and unmistakable, offering a balanced synergy of both the masculine and feminine expression. Their melodious soundscapes showcase instruments from all over the world. Inspired by the Majesty of Nature their musings encompass the listener with driving and revitalizing organic rhythms, transcendent electronic production, warm soothing female vocals and heartened lyricism.
Their intention is to create a bridge between Nature and Humankind, an expansive experience that encourages growth and graceful passage for the hearts and minds of their listeners.
The name YAIMA emerges from two sources
one from the Mapudungun language meaning "that which water runs through" and the other from the culturally preserved Yaeyama District of Okinawa Japan- Over the last 5 years YAIMAs music has been reaching the ears and hearts of listeners from all around the world.
CHANCHA VIA CIRCUITO
Chancha Via Circuito’s music is a fusion of traditional cumbia rhythms with digital production techniques, incorporating elements of electronic music, folk, and world music. His sound is characterized by its infectious energy, catchy melodies, and eclectic sampling.
